HEllo everybody... This is such a big shock, even for me. Cos I tink I haven't written in my blog for more than...two months? Three? Maybe six...
So I am now a Nanyang Girl which might sound majorly geeky but trust me MOST of the girls there are anything but geeky. Me included:D I'm in the Drum Ensemble and you might now be thinking that is so awesome cos she's learning the whole hand-eye-foot coordination skill, but NO. The drums I am learning to play are chinese drums. Not your typical rock band drums... Sure, sure, laugh all you want. The china girl in the china school playing china drums. haha. I thought about the impression I would give people by entering this CCA in Nanyang Girls High, but sometimes I guess you really have to put aside other people's thoughts of you to do anything at all. I mean, everyone will definitely have their own opinion of what you are doing. If you listen to what everyone has to say about what you are doing, and you actually take their advice, you're not living at all.
OK, enough preaching.
Well, let's see... Hmm... Ah... Yes. My language arts(english and literature) teacher said that my class is very unresponsive during the first few weeks of school. And in my opinion, a lot of us are still way too shy to speak up when asked for our opinions. We're so used to giving model answers that when we are asked for an opinion where there is no right and wrong, we are terrifed... So she told us that we are SENTIENT beings. Which makes me feel like an animal that reacts to its surroundings. I know I sound crazy, but that's just the way it is. I mean, when I look back, the way she expressed it was just downright hilarious. "YOU ARE ALL SENTIENT BEINGS"
My translation of that:"start answering my questions already, girls. pleeease?"
Also, I just learnt from my Language Arts(LA) teacher that there is no such word as "monitress". Is that new for you people?? Despite her being oh-so strict about English, which is totally understandable, I really really like her. She's very dynamic and I never expected English classes in sec school to be so enjoyable. :D
I like my history teacher too. Or maybe I just like the subject. I think I got C5 or C6 for my first assignment, then A1 for the second assignment. lol. I really like history class, which is also something I did not expect at all. I thought I would detest history, i mean, would you find artefacts thousands of years old fascinating? Or lots of facts about ancient civilisations fun? I wouldn't. If you told me that I had to learn all of that verbally and vaguely, I would have sworn out loud. But turns out, it's not as bad as it sounds... Instead, it's really fun for me.
So... Ending para. I actually appealed into drum ensemble. I was from St.John Ambulance Brigade initially. I really loved the seniors there and I hope they won't be upset about me quitting. I quit because I didn't really enjoy what we had to do during the CCA, and I really didn't like the barrier between us and the sec fours. I mean, they do deserve our respect, but does the line really have to be drawn so clearly? ... ... Maybe it's the way things work there, but I really don't think I'll be able to get used to it. So, dear seniors from SJAB, I'm really sorry that I quit and I hope we can still be friends even if we aren't in the same CCA anymore. Year one squad, must加油!! :D
